Responsibilities
The City of Brady patrol officers are divided up into two sections which work 12-hour shifts, allowing for around the clock coverage. When the department is fully staffed, each section is led by a Sergeant who oversees a four-officer crew for each 24-hour time period. Officers report for duty at staggered times so that the City is consistently covered enabling officers the ability to be more proactive in nature, in lieu of a reactive response approach to calls after a problem has already occurred.
In addition to responding to calls for assistance, officers conduct follow-ups on previous reports taken, initiate traffic stops for observed violations, confirm and serve warrants, conduct building/business checks and anything else a citizen, business owner or guest might require.
